At 26 I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and told I may have trouble falling pregnant naturally, particularly as I got older. At 33 I met a wonderful man and we knew we wanted to have children. At 34 we started our journey to have a child. Despite the PCOS, my periods were regular and I felt there was no reason I shouldn't be able fall pregnant naturally.
After 6 months of trying to conceive I resisted my doctor’s recommendations to explore fertility treatment. After 12 months, unhealthily stressed from work, life and fertility questions, we decided to pack up our life for a year and travel Australia.
Six weeks into our trip, we discovered I was pregnant! It was a great lesson to me on the damage that stress causes and what happens when we let go.
